Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American performer, actor and dancer. The first Broadway performances are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. in You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors, actors and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford's upcoming project is an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that brought us Hamilton is directing the production. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the impeachment crisis that swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment proceeding in America in over a century. Ashford was the main character in two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Additional Broadway roles for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded the Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and is now dividing her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
